TMC Adds New Director of HR
The Martens Companies is excited to announce the hiring of Vanessa Bazil as the companies’ new Director of Human Resources.
Bazil joined the company in late December after more than seven years working at the Hyatt Regency Wichita. Her years of experience and unique hospitality expertise made her a great fit for TMC, which provides a wide range of commercial real estate services including brokerage, appraisal and hospitality. In addition to her current position, Bazil is an Adjunct Teacher at Butler Community College for the Hospitality Management program.
“We are very excited to have Vanessa join the Martens Companies,” said President Steve Martens. “Her work history, along with her professionalism and positive personality made her an obvious choice for this new position at our company.”
Bazil is a Wichita native and earned her degree from The University of Kansas. She said her work stems from things about which she cares, working with animals for a time and now helping people.
“My professional history is driven by work that calls to my heart,” Bazil said, “as I used to work in Adoptions at the Kansas Humane Society caring for animals, before I moved over the Hyatt in 2012 to care for people, where I eventually became Director of Human Resources.”
In her spare time Bazil likes to exercise and spend time with her family – her husband and son along with their two cats and a dog.
Bazil said she is happy to join the Martens team and looks forward to continuing her work by helping others better themselves.
“I am passionate about the idea of discovering potential in ourselves and those around us, and helping others be their best self,” she said. “It’s an ongoing and ever-changing journey, and I strive to help others be their best every day.”
