Report from 2017 NAI Global Convention
Steve Martens, Kris Wessel and Tom Johnson just returned from the NAI Global Convention held in Carlsbad, California last week. Principals, brokers and marketing managers from offices around the world convened at the La Costa resort for three days of meetings, breakout sessions, education classes and networking. We had the opportunity to meet with representatives of companies across Europe and new members throughout the country and share information on Wichita at the New Professional and International Welcome Reception held the first evening.
There were excellent presentations throughout the three days including a session with Andrew Farkas, Island Capital Group (which owns NAI Global) and William Lauder, head of The Estee Lauder Companies. Their 25 brands are sold in 150 countries and their retail, office and industrial holdings worldwide made for a very enlightening presentation. Also of interest was a presentation by Green Street Advisors on the outlook for commercial properties. Once that is available from NAI global, we’ll share it in a future Mondays with Martens.
The specialty sessions which we attended included industrial, retail, office, capital markets, property management and marketing. We are always striving to improve the service we provide our clients and the innovative best practices shared in these sessions help us stay on the leading edge. One such area is how we present properties for lease and for sale such as the new video for the Farm Credit Bank Building in downtown Wichita.
